Struggling to find a balance on the weekends? Too much fun and not enough productivity or vice versa? It can be rather difficult trying to find a happy medium with the two, but although the task is tricky, it’s not impossible. The following list contains 5 things that successful people do to not only find their blissful balance on the weekends, but to also come into work feeling recharged and 110% ready to take on the Monday morning ahead of them!

1. They Disconnect

In a world where we’re constantly connected, you must make it a point to disconnect. I truly believe disconnecting is the most important weekend strategy. By making yourself available to your work 24/7, you are never truly leaving work and you’re exposed to stressors which will prevent you from refocusing and recharging.

Now, if taking the entire weekend off (not responding to work related e-mails and calls) isn’t realistic for you, try to set aside designated time frames on Saturday or Sunday for checking and responding to work related messages. These designated times will help to take away the stress, give you time to recharge, without completely sacrificing your availability.

2. They Reflect

Reflection in all aspects of your life are necessary to learn and grow. I can’t stress enough how important weekly reflection is and what a powerful tool for improvement it can serve as. Taking a step back to reflect can also help you to see the bigger picture. Use your weekends to contemplate the larger aspects that are shaping your job, organization, or industry. Without your everyday distractions and busy work, I think you’ll be surprised at how differently you’ll start to see things.

3. They Pursue a Passion

I also think you’ll be surprised by what happens when you pursue something that makes your soul swoon and are completely passionate about on the weekends. Letting yourself indulge in your passions is the best way to escape stress and to open up your mind to the different pathways of thinking. Whether that passion is reading, painting, writing, or hiking, all of these hobbies will help stimulate different modes of thoughts that can help you in the week ahead.

4. They Spend Quality Time with Family

My first passion in life is my family, the second is my company. Spending quality time with your family on the weekend is absolutely essential if you want to recharge and relax. With the weekdays being so hectic, it’s not hard for an entire week to slip by with very little quality family time, so don’t let the chaos flow into your weekends. are so hectic that the entire week can fly by with little quality family time. Don’t let this bleed into your weekends. Go to the park, go to your kid’s favorite restaurant, go on an adventure – make time and be with the one’s you love.

5. They Prepare for the Upcoming Week

Disconnecting, reflection, spending time with family, that’s all very important to get yourself mentally prepared for the upcoming week, but the weekend is also a great time to spend a few moments planning for your upcoming week. Prepping for the 5 work days ahead doesn’t have to take a significant amount of time. Set aside 30 minutes of planning, which will increase your productivity and reduce your stress. Entering any situation, work or elsewhere, will feel much more manageable when you go into it with a plan.

What do you do on the weekends to disconnect and feel recharged?
